Prof.Divakaran
Passed Away

With deep regret we inform you that Prof.Divakaran, one of the founding members of KEF passed
away on Sunday, 20th May 20012 at Chennai. He studied at REC,
Calicut and was Professor in the Electrical Engg department at
TKMCE. He was the President of REC Alumni, Muscat. He is survived by his wife, two children & grand
children. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. |
Speech Contest Winners- 2012
We had two wonderful , exciting and
informative seminars and scintillating speech contests on
 Friday,
18th May 2012 at Bowsher.
Dr.Benoy Sebastian ( Consultant in Gastroenterology,
KIMS Oman hospital ) talked about health topic " Know your Liver"
Mrs.Sangeetha Sridhar ( IT Consultant) talked about future technological
advancements " Online what you do there"
 All
the children performed extremely well. It was tough time for the judges
to select the winners. The strong support from Toastmasters helped to
conduct the speech contest without much difficulties.
The contest started at 2.30 PM and the
dinner was served at 8.30PM.

KEF Women's day
KEF women's day was celebrated on
Friday, 27th April 2012.
Dr Syamalakumari, a Pathologist and super
specialist in Cytopathology delivered
a speech about Cancer awareness. She is an expert in the detection of cancers with more than 25
years of experience in that field only. Her specialty and interests are
in the detection of predominant cancers in women. There was fun
games, cookery show and other activities followed by dinner

Chef Hunt-Season 2 was launched by Spicy Village Rusayl on
November 18 2011.From the 3,000 entries for seven categories
that they received, 104 entries were short listed for the final
event.
Ms. Devi Vinod ( w/o Vinod Kesavdas, MEA ) won the first
prize for Starters Category.The prize was awarded for the dish -
Chinese chilly bread with cashewnuts .

LITERARY AWARD : We are pleased to share the news
that Sapna Anu B. George, wife of Biju T. George of CETAA
(Sr. Project Manager - STP projects in Haya Water) has won the
KYC literary award by Puthiyangadi KYC cultural society for the
NRI writers. She won this for her first published poetry
collection titled 'Swapnangal'. The award will be presented to
her next month by the Kerala state Minister Mr. C.N Balakrishnan.

Sajimon: A young poet
" Birds at Dawn" is a unique
collection of poems versed by a relatively
unknown child poetess Athulya Gloria Sajimon, an
11th grade student of Indian School Al Gubra.
She is the daughter of Er. Saji M. Lukose (TKM)
